Green Mountain Spring Farm Resort and Spa

My son's birthday was coming up and we haven't decided yet whether to do another party at home, or eat at a nice restaurant, or do an overnight stay somewhere. Another party wouldn't be reasonable since it's not his first one, we don't have much relatives nearby, and there aren't much kids unlike school age children. Eating at a restaurant would be too usual for a kid's birthday. Then, it hit me, an overnight stay would be ideal since everyone's very busy and badly needed some time off. Also, my son loves the water. So, it was then settled - an overnight stay it is.

The next dilemma was where. Lately, renting houses is a trend - vacation houses to be exact. These vacation houses are ideal for family gatherings, outings, and team buildings since the place could be exclusively yours. There are lots of vacation houses for rent here in Cebu. You can take a pick whether it would be near the city or far, by the beach or in the mountains, and with or without a pool. For our case, we chose far from the city and in the mountains (for a little adventure), and with a pool for the swimming part, of course. Luckily, I found this amazing place in Barili - a spring farm. There's not much info about it on the internet. Thus, making me more intrigued on going.

LOCATION:

The spring farm is far from the main road - I mean, really far. There are two ways of getting there. First, through Brgy Bagakay, which is a shorter route but has a tough road. It's 300 meters after Molave Milk Station. Second, you need to go to the town proper of Barili. This would be the longer route, but has better road than the other one. I suggest going there while it's still daytime, and do ask for a guide from the owner going to the resort. Don't worry, it's for free. If you are not going to bring a car, the owner can ask his staff to pick you guys up from Barili's town proper. This is free as well. Also, may I suggest that if you bring a car, a 4x4 (4WD) would be much ideal. You can bring your 4x2 (2WD), but just make sure your car has much power for an off-road experience and climbs.

THE RESORT

After that adrenaline pumping travel, at last, we arrived at the resort and it was literally breathtaking. You can hear birds chirping, the sound of the trees dancing, and the therapeutic sound of flowing water. You could feel the cold breeze brushing your skin. It was nature at its best and it was just magical.

Here are some things you can do. This is something you can read beside the kitchen door and inside the group space room. Cool isn't it?

Swimming time for everyone. The benefit of their pool is it's not chlorinated. So, very therapeutic and oh so natural. The water is indeed cold. But no worries, it will be just during your first few dips. Eventually, your body will adapt to the cold temperature. See, my son is enjoying it.

If you're feeling too cold, they have a sauna. It was absolutely fun. We took turns so everybody could try it. You can definitely try it with some additional fee.

This place is so calm and serene that we decided to make our morning group prayer and sharing.

RATES

Their rate is very reasonable. For our stay, we rented their group space. It was just beside the spring pool, and beside it is the kitchen. The group space is not air-conditioned, but who needs one when it's cold. The room is really big enough for a huge group. Their kitchen is complete. It has a stove, rice cooker, water with dispenser, grilling area, kitchen utensils, cookware, and dinnerware . All of that is usable during your stay.

Ingredients and condiments not included with rate

STAYCATION SCORE:  ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/ 5

Overall, I'll give the resort 4 out of 5. The place is astonishing. Their staff, Ronnie and Monet, were very kind and helpful. We weren't able to meet with the owner, but he's great. He answered all of our inquiries as soon as possible. I think the 1 point that lacks for this resort is due to the road going there. The road really needs some upgrade, but that's not the resort's fault at all. Although, the narrow and steep road going to their parking area is really scary, trust me. Nonetheless, it was an awesome and totally worth it stay.
