SUGBUFÉ : Cebu's Worth It Lechon Dinner Buffet



If you're looking for a buffet place in Cebu with tasty Filipino cuisine, perfect ambience and at a good price point, then Sugbufé is the place for you.  Not to mention, they serve Lechon every dinner - now that's definitely a plus, especially if you have guests visiting from outside of Cebu.



We, Filipinos, really love our bonding time with the whole family - I mean, literally the entire family, especially during special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries, so it's unlikely that we celebrate alone.  A great option for these events is to go a buffet place where we could say goodbye to our diet for a while an indulge in good food.  But really, most of us don't have the luxury to eat at a buffet place where most of the menu are our favorites and wouldn't hurt our pockets.

Luckily, we found this buffet place that serves local cuisine, which has good reviews, price worthy and serves lechon.  Yes, you read it right, lechon.  Who doesn't crave for lechon every now and then?
 
The place was so charming.  Lights above the buffet area where light bulbs enclosed in an empty jar.  Also, the ceiling decor above the customer's tables and chairs were car rims.  How cool is that?  The glass walls made the area so open.  The whole place was well-thought-out.  It was somewhat minimalistic in nature with a modern feel.

As for their menu when we went there, here are some of what were served:
Appetizer area ("Guso", kinilaw, macaroni salad)
Appetizer Area (Minatamis na saging, adobong kangkong, atsara)
Soup (Tinolang Manok and Ginataang Monggo)

Other items on menu:
  • Bistek
  • Chopsuey
  • Ngohiong
  • Chilli crabs
  • Chicken Afritada
  • Pancit Bihon
  • Sauteed shrimps in chilli sauce


For their dessert area, they just have a few selections.

  • Lechon is only served during the dinner buffet.
  • Dinner buffet is from 6pm-10pm. 
  • Lunch buffet is from 6pm-10pm.
  • They are only open through Mondays to Saturdays.
  • Price for lunch buffet is 388 net per person; for dinner buffet, 488 net per person (prices are subjected to changes). 
  • Children up to 6 years of age are free; kids aged 7-10 are half priced.
  • They only accept CASH.
  • Please do call them for reservations, especially during Fridays and Saturdays, to avoid waiting and to check if their whole place is booked exclusively.

This buffet place is worth every single penny.  The food, atmosphere and experience was amazing.  Their customer service is impeccable.  I just wish they had more selection over dessert.  But overall, our experience here is worthwhile.  Definitely, we would go back here.

KALAW RESTO + BAR : Cebu's Mountainside Resto + Aviary

Hidden in the mountain part of Lahug, Cebu City, is Kalaw Resto+Bar.  We wanted to eat somewhere new and exciting, and luckily we found this amazing place.  We knew about this restaurant through a post from a family friend, and it literally drew us curious, especially if you have a kid who loves to see animals. TERRAZAS DE FLORES : Cebu's City Retreat

You're probably too stressed from work or school, yet you just don't have the budget or the time for another vacation outside of Cebu. This was the same thought our family had when we were planning for our mom's birthday. Everybody only had half a day to de-stress and celebrate. Good thing our mom heard of a newly opened botanical garden, which was what she really wanted in the first place. Another botanical garden option would be Sirao Flower Garden, but it's just a bit further from the city for us.
