Green Mountain Spring Farm Resort and Spa

Image
My son's birthday was coming up and we haven't decided yet whether to do another party at home, or eat at a nice restaurant, or do an overnight stay somewhere. Another party wouldn't be reasonable since it's not his first one, we don't have much relatives nearby, and there aren't much kids unlike school age children. Eating at a restaurant would be too usual for a kid's birthday. Then, it hit me, an overnight stay would be ideal since everyone's very busy and badly needed some time off. Also, my son loves the water. So, it was then settled - an overnight stay it is. The next dilemma was where. Lately, renting houses is a trend - vacation houses to be exact. These vacation houses are ideal for family gatherings, outings, and team buildings since the place could be exclusively yours. There are lots of vacation houses for rent here in Cebu. You can take a pick whether it would be near the city or far, by the beach or in the mountains, and with or wi

Corn and Egg Soup

Lately, it has been a periodic change of weather - sunny, rainy, sunny, rainy. Mostly, it's the gloomy one. But don't get me wrong. I love the bed weather. You just want to stay indoors, get cozy in your cool bed, or maybe sleep all day long. But let's make this chilly day extra warm. Why don't we make a homemade soup? Something fast and easy perhaps? What better way to ease that gloomy state than with a warm and hearty soup. Let's cook something out of simple ingredients and just within the budget. Today, I'll be making a corn and egg soup. Let's get started!

Turmeric Fried Rice

Another healthy recipe for the family that's easy and fast. Today, I'm going to make something with Turmeric.  Yes, turmeric. And no, we're not going to make a curry. Turmeric has many benefits for the body.  It has bioactive compounds that has medicinal properties. It is a natural anti-inflammatory, as well as an antioxidant. It is also said to prevent cancer, or perhaps even cure it.  So, see, there's a lot of plus in eating this plant. So, here's my take on a recipe which uses turmeric.

French Toast with Caramelized Apples

Early morning yum. Nowadays, most individuals are growing more health conscious; watching what they eat, exercise, and some other health regimen. People are becoming more and more keen towards their outlook about health in general. For most Filipinos, like me, rice is something that is stable on the table - breakfast, lunch, dinner. But sometimes, you just want to munch on something different. Something sweet? Yes! Something healthy? Most definitely! A fast and easy alternative would be some toast and apples. I love apples! They're sweet and crunchy, plus the added nutrition, too. Who wouldn't want that? Antioxidants and dietary fibers that apples contain would be so fab to have. And of course, do have some bread to gain energy for your morning routines.  But let's take it up a notch, and let's make a simple apples and toast exciting. CARAMELIZED APPLES Prep Time: 5 mins. Cooking time: 15-20 mins. Ingredients: 1 piece apple - sliced into cubes  1/

Hola, MEXIMAMA!

Image
Craving for something Mexican? That Latino flavor? That smoky and spicy goodness? Or, do you want to try out something new perhaps? Then go and visit MexiMama in Mabolo, Cebu City. Try their flavorsome dishes for just the right price. They have a wide variety of dishes to choose from - from quesadillas to tacos, to burritos, to various sides, and to their savory main dishes. Surely, you'll never get enough of it. I still dream of that aromatic, zesty, spicy, mouthwatering barbecue taste. Ugh! I can't! I must eat it again! Scrumptious food it is. Also, their serving for the main dishes are huge. When my husband and I went there for the first time, it was enough for us to share on one main dish and have an order of tacos.

CAFE NAMOO : Cozy Cute Cubicles

Image
Cafe's are a big hit right now, especially this type where you can have your own cozy cubicle with lots, and lots of pillows, and stuffed toys. Here in Cebu, we mostly see them near schools and malls. I guess it's really beneficial for students, especially in college when sometimes you don't have a class for a certain subject. You and your friends can hang out here: eat, chat, or even study.
