Turmeric Fried Rice



Another healthy recipe for the family that's easy and fast. Today, I'm going to make something with Turmeric.  Yes, turmeric. And no, we're not going to make a curry.

Turmeric has many benefits for the body.  It has bioactive compounds that has medicinal properties. It is a natural anti-inflammatory, as well as an antioxidant. It is also said to prevent cancer, or perhaps even cure it.  So, see, there's a lot of plus in eating this plant.

So, here's my take on a recipe which uses turmeric.




Turmeric Fried Rice

Prep time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes

Ingredients:
2 tbsp olive oil
1/4 cup onion leeks (chopped)
2 garlic cloves (minced)
1 red/green bell pepper (diced)
1/2 cup carrots (cubed)
1/2 -1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black ground pepper
1 tbsp turmeric powder
3 cups cooked rice

Directions:

1. In a pan, put olive oil and saute onion, garlic, and bell peppers over low to medium heat. Add in the carrots. Season it with salt, pepper.  Add in turmeric powder.

2. Cover and let the vegetables cook for some time.  Toss in cups of rice and mix.  Constantly stir the rice to coat everything and give it an even color.

3. Serve hot.
